Kalen is located in the northwestern part of the territory of the Municipality of Vitolishte, not far from the road Prilep -Vitolishte. The village is hilly, at an altitude of 640 meters. From the town of Prilep village is 26 km away. Kalen has a relatively large  area of 22.6 km2.  It is dominated by pastures with 1433 ha. , arable land occupy 533 ha and  forests just 52 ha. Accordingly, the village has a Crop - livestock function. From Kalen moved out a significant portion of its population.
